Teleather Bonner Walters.
I have always loved to cook. My Mother, Maria E. Tolbert DeWalt, taught me how to cook. She always had lots of children that lived with her. Some of them didn’t live with her but if they stopped by, she always had food saved to share with them. Because of that, in Liberia and the USA, I have always done that. I learned how to cook from my Mother. The more I cooked, the more improved I became.
I taught children who lived with me how to cook and bake. I taught my children, now I am sure, they do not need me to do anymore cooking for them.

I learned to cook from my grandmother Gertrude Augusta Knowlden always in the kitchen with she had those magic hands that she could put together to make a meal.and the another part my learning how to cook came from my mother Mrs Teleather Dewalt Bonner Walters thanks to them.

I enjoyed cooking since I was a little girl. I first learned to bake and baked my first pineapple upside down cake when I was only eight years old. My love for cooking and baking , my comfort place was heavily influenced by my paternal grandmother and my mother. I love feeding others. It gives me great joy. This is one of the ways I serve others. It gives me a chance to be creative and nurturing. I adore losing myself in the rituals of chopping, stirring, blending and baking. Like music, the kitchen has always been my happy place. For me it is an expression of love (Tina)

I never really cared about cooking growing up. They had this saying that turned me off about cooking “cooking is the way to a mans heart” and for me I was wondering what his mother was teaching him about the way to a woman’s heart? Lol At age of 36 I have a new found love for cooking after having kids of my own (2) wonderful boys seeing the joy on their faces praising me for my cooking made me fall in love with cooking! And be about to Cook for my 78-year-old mom and hear her praises fills my heart!
